IFA go ahead with dispute protest

Galway: The IFA is going ahead with a major protest in Galway city today over the industrial dispute at Department of Agriculture offices in five counties.

The Department said the National Implementation Body had been in contact with the CPSU and the Department, who have also had discussions.

"Substantial progress has been made and both sides are confident that the process they are engaged in will lead to a resolution.”

IFA president John Dillon said members were incensed by the failure of Minister Joe Walsh and management in the Department to provide an essential service for farmers of the dispute.
