Missing 14-year-old phones home

A 14-YEAR-OLD British girl who went missing after posting photographs of herself on the internet has contacted parents and friends to reassure them of her safety.

Jenna Bashir, who has been missing for 11 days, made a telephone call to her family on Tuesday night to say she was safe, well, and had money, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

Police said Bashir, from west London, had also made phone calls to two friends on Wednesday.

She had placed her picture and personal details on a contact website, giving a false age of 17.

Her father discovered her entry after hearing of the circumstances in which Shevaun Pennington, 12, ran off with a former US Marine.
