ANGLING
Cork SAC fished their Dan Lynch Trophy shore angling competition at Ringaskiddy. The fixture was fished on a cold, sunny, dry day, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on an ebb & flood tide from high water + 2 hours to low water + 1 hours. The competition time was reduced due to the icy roads. Fishing was poor, with the anglers catching just 17 fish - all whiting. 1: A. O'Dowling, 8 fish - 466 points; 2: D. Kenrick, 4-204 pts; 3: S. O'Brien, 4-192 pts..
Tramore/Waterford SAC fished a shore angling competition at Passage East. The competitors fished a flood tide on a fine day. The anglers returned a catch of 30 fish - 12 flounders, 6 cod, 8 coalfish & 4 whiting.
Cobh SAC hosted a boat angling competition in Cork Harbour. The 52 competitors, fished from 6 boats from 11am to 5pm and returned a catch of 169 fish. Fish caught included 92 conger eels, 2 ling, 6 cod, 30 lesser-spotted dogfish, 1 coalfish, 27 pollack, 1 pouting, 2 whiting, 1 tope, 4 grey gurnard & 1 blonde ray. 1: M.
