Old order rings the changes – but why?

IT is proposed to make changes in the interior of the Augustinian Church in Galway.

I wonder why. It cannot be claimed that it is in response to anything called for in Vatican II because no such changes were ever recommended by the council.

Any changes that came into being anywhere were the work of a commission set up when the bishops had all gone home at the end of the council.

People from all quarters attend Mass and devotions in the Augustinian church.

They have done so down the years since the church was built by the pennies of the poor.

Members of the order come and go. We the people of Galway are here to stay.
