Zurawski finally becomes Celtic’s new Bhoy
The 29-year-old has taken his time in deciding to leave Wisla Krakow for Parkhead, eventually snubbing the advances of Turkish side Trabzonspor in the process.
But the two clubs took an age to decide the payment structure of a deal and Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell flew out on Sunday and returned a day later with a set of proposals from the Polish champions.
The player, regarded as Poland’s top striker and who scored in World Cup qualifiers against England, Wales and Northern Ireland last season, arrived in Scotland yesterday to finalise the move. Celtic were able to announce the completion of the transfer earlier than anticipated but chose not to hold a press conference in light of the terrorist attacks in London.
