Carey polls apart in hurling legend vote
With one week of voting under way, the Young Ireland’s man is the most-voted-for player in the internet poll, while county teammate Henry Shefflin is not far behind in the voting stakes.
Tipperary’s Brendan Cummins is currently leading the votes for the goalkeeper spot, with Wexford’s Damien Fitzhenry a close second.
Clare’s legendary Brian Lohan tops the list in the full-back line, with Willie O’Connor, Ollie Canning and Wayne Sherlock in close contention.
Brian Whelahan heads the half-back line voting. Cork captain and Hurler of the Year Seán Óg Ó hAilpín is close behind, with Sean McMahon and JJ Delaney pushing Colin Lynch and Tommy Dunne are tied for the midfield spots. Shefflin leads in the half-forward line, with John Leahy and Ken McGrath filling the other two spots. DJ is the forward everyone wants on their team, with Cork’s Joe Deane and Waterford’s Paul Flynn in the corners.
