Hehasalife can come good

HEHASALIFE, a slightly unlucky loser at Limerick last time, can redress the balance in the T and V Novice Hurdle at Kilbeggan tonight.

Michael Hourigan’s former succcessful pointer has been disappointing since coming onto the racecourse, but there was sufficient merit in his latest performance to indicate a little contest such as this is within his compass.

Nibbled at in the market, the six-year-old was travelling like a winner heading to the penultimate flight.

But Hehasalife pecked at the back of the obstacle and though rallying strongly in the closing stages was still half a length adrift of Il En Reve at the line. The fact that it was a further 20 lengths to the third is clearly encouraging.

In-form Noel Meade trained Whatatouch can enjoy another success in the www.kilbegganraces.com Handicap ’Chase.

He won eight lengths at Navan in the middle of May, but is flattered by that, because the challenging Toto Caelo fell at the second last.

The selection went up plenty, 8lbs, but this sweet-jumping trail-blazer will still take all the beating.

Another penalised runner, Zamnah, can provide the answer to the Bank Of Ireland Handicap Hurdle.

She showed a real liking for this track 17 days ago, making all to beat Toutankhamon and subsequent Cork winner, Max Time, by six lengths and the same, and can shrug off a rise of 9lbs.

Brendar, who showed improved form when beaten a length into second spot by Millview Rose at Wexford, gets the vote in the Bumper.
