Dubya making history while Hillary lives it

WHEN your correspondent, Janet Campbell from Ludlow, Maine (Irish Examiner, June 6) quotes Herr Goering to the effect that people can always be brought to do their leader’s bidding, she must realise he was only half Reich.

For, as another wag said, "You can fool half the people half the time, all the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time."

Besides, George Dubya ain't so bad. (Your correspondent wouldn't be the first to misjudge him).

And as she has a presidential election in the US next year, if the people are still happy to return the present incumbent, then she will only have to wait 'til 2008 for Hillary to throw her hat into the ring.

While the senator for New York has been delivering her memoirs, 'Living History, ' Mr Bush is actually making it. History, that is.

As Bill Clinton might wistfully put it, "close but no cigar."
