  • 175g butter

  • 175g caster sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 175g flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract

  • For the almond paste layer:

  • 75g ground almonds

  • 35g caster sugar

  • 35g icing sugar

  • 1 egg, beaten (to bind)

  • For the topping:

  • 50-75g flaked almonds
