  • 7g butter, softened 

  • 2 tbsp golden syrup

  • juice of ½ lemon (about 2 tbsp)

  • 2 tbsp white breadcrumbs

  • 110g butter

  • 110g golden caster sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 150g self-raising flour

  • grated zest of 1 lemon

  • 2 tbsp milk

  • For the sauce:

  • 3 tbsp golden syrup

  • 3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
