Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line an 8inch round spring form or loose base tin.

  2. Cream the butter and sugar until they are light and fluffy. Add the eggs slowly and combine them with the butter and sugar.

  3. Add the vanilla and orange zest.

  4. Sieve the baking powder and flour together. Add a third of the flour to the batter and then add a third of the milk. Stirring until combined. Continue this until all of the ingredients form a smooth batter.

  5. Scoop into the prepared tin and bake for approximately 35 minutes, until golden on top or until a skewer comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
