Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil can never bring change

Greta Kelly (Letters, January 15) suggests her only option for a vote would be the “honest & principled” Greens, and writes off the smaller parties, groupings and independents as a result.

Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil can never bring change

Has she forgotten which party it was that kept Fianna Fáil and Bertie Ahern in power, voting to keep us under the influence of him and his ilk even when his bizarre finances and suicide comments were headline news ?

The only option for this election are the independents and smaller parties that Ms Kelly dismisses; FG Lite excluded, as they’d be back in bed with their spiritual home in a heartbeat.

The concern is they may not have the numbers to keep the ethically-challenged, “two sides of the same civil war” coin out, but we can only live in hope.
