Green light for 88 new homes in Carrigaline

Cork County Council has given the green light for 88 new homes in Carrigaline on a vacant site off Pottery Rd.
Boar’s Head Limited sought planning permission for a mixed-use development at Carrigaline Town Centre on a 1.84 ha site.
The approved plans will include 88 residential housing units, comprising 18 three-bed duplex units, 25 two-bed duplex units, 22 two-bed apartments, and 23 one-bed apartments, as well as five ground-floor retail units including a cafe, a gym, a hair salon, a day care, and a newsagents.
The development will also include 48 car parking spaces and 128 bicycle parking spaces, with pedestrian access to the development provided from both Main St and Pottery Road.
Meanwhile, plans for a large-scale residential development in Blarney have been lodged with the city council.
Developer OMD(C) Ltd has sought permission to build 100 new homes on lands associated with the Former St. Anns Hydropathic Establishment at St. Anns Hill, Kilnamucky, Tower in Blarney.
The 100 units would comprise 63 houses, 23 apartments and 14 duplex units, as well as a creche facility.
The proposed development also includes the restoration of the former Clock Tower structure and parkland, which served the former St. Ann’s Hydropathic Establishment.
Cork City Council are due to decide on the case by November 13, 2025.
