The Hallow director's fave film is Evil Dead II!

The Hallow is a new horror movie which was shot in Ireland and follows the story of a British family who have newly arrived in the area and don't exactly get a warm welcome from the local people or the creatures lurking in the nearby woods.
The Hallow director's fave film is Evil Dead II!

Here's the creepy trailer.

It's the first feature from music video fellow Corin Hardy, who is also getting ready to direct a new adaptation of The Crow. We caught up with the filmmaker for a quite chat recently and the conversation came around to him having to pick his favourite film of all time. And he picked a really, really good one.

"Yes, it’s always going to be Evil Dead II! Because it is just genuinely the best film ever made! It needs no more explanation than that really!"

He definitely has our vote on that, with Sam Raimi's 1987 flick being the kind of film we can literally watch over and over. Mostly because its just so incredibly weird and funny and gory and over the top, and features and incredible performance from Bruce Campbell. The obvious follow up question is to find out if Hardy has managed to catch Ash vs Evil Dead - the new small screen revival for the franchise which has been many decades in the making.

"No I can’t wait though. It premiered on Halloween when I was out in New York showing The Hallow so I haven’t had a chance but I’m looking forward to seeing it, it looks like they’ve managed to capture the world of Evil Dead and Ash which I and maybe a bunch of fans never thought we’d see again. It seems like a great idea for a TV format as well."

We hoping that Ash vs Evil Dead continues for a long time to come, and maybe Hardy could get a gig as a director for one of the upcoming season 2 episodes!?

The Hallow is in Irish cinemas on the 13th of November 2015. Read the full interview here.
