WEEE Ireland adds two experienced directors to its board
WEEE Ireland board appointees Caroline Bergin and Elizabeth O’Reilly.
WEEE Ireland (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Ireland), has appointed Elizabeth O’Reilly and Caroline Bergin to its board.
Leo Donovan, CEO, WEEE Ireland, said: “Elizabeth has been central to the development of Ireland’s EPR framework since its inception and brings exceptional insight into how policy translates into real-world compliance and impact.
“Caroline adds a wealth of governance and legal expertise that will support robust oversight and long-term strategic decision-making.”
Elizabeth O’Reilly has been appointed director of WEEE Ireland, bringing more than 23 years’ experience in environmental policy, circular economy leadership and the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) solutions for Ireland’s electrical and battery industries.
She will lead WEEE Ireland’s involvement on a broad range of Government policy and regulatory consultations, advancing WEEE Ireland’s circular economy future.
Elizabeth has played a central role in WEEE Ireland’s development since its establishment in 2005. As head of environmental compliance and membership, she has helped grow the membership base to c.1,400 producers.
She represents Ireland on the National Waste Advisory Group, and collaborates with the WEEE Forum, Eucobat, PRONEXA and PV Cycle. She is a chartered environmentalist.
Caroline Bergin has been appointed as non-executive director of WEEE Ireland and chair designate of the nomination and governance committee. She is an accomplished legal and governance executive with over 30 years’ experience across listed and privately held organisations in Ireland, UK and USA.
