Jennifer Power and Geoff Codd, new board roles with the AAI.

The Association of Advertisers in Ireland has appointed Geoff Codd, marketing director at Energia, as its new president, and Jennifer Power, media lead for UK & Ireland at McDonald’s, as its vice-president.

The AAI is the national representative body for advertisers in Ireland, advocating on categories ranging from food and beverage to retail and telecoms, finance, pharma and technology.

Geoff Codd takes up the role of AAI president for a two-year term. With Energia since 2008, he currently leads brand, marketing and communications strategy for the business. He brings deep experience of building and sustaining strong brands. He has previously served as a member of the AAI board.

Jennifer Power has been actively involved on the AAI board for several years. She is a senior marketing leader with extensive experience across a number of sectors and has worked as part of the marketing team at McDonald’s since 2018. In her current role, she manages media strategy across multiple markets.

Barry Dooley, chief executive of the AAI, said: “As we celebrate 75 years of the AAI, we’re delighted to welcome Geoff and Jennifer to their new roles with the AAI. We’re looking forward to having Geoff and Jennifer help spearhead our efforts to create an advertising environment that is transparent, responsible and accountable; one that can be trusted by the public, by advertisers and by legislators.” 

The AAI was established in 1951, to advance the commercial interests of advertisers by advocating for the right to responsible self-regulation and fair competition.
