Israel kills Palestinian policeman
The Israeli army has killed a Palestinian policeman and injured four others in a missile attack on a police checkpoint in the West Bank village of Tamun.
Israel fired anti-tank missiles at the checkpoint early this morning in an apparent retaliation for a spate of attacks by Palestinian militants yesterday.
A suicide bomber killed himself and three others outside a train station in Nahariya in northern Israel, while two hours later, another bomber blew himself up in a car at a busy highway intersection.
Earlier in the day, Palestinian gunmen killed an Israeli teacher and a taxi driver in a drive-by shooting in the Jordan Valley area of the West Bank.
Israeli helicopters pounded Palestinians buildings in the towns of Ramallah, Jenin and Jericho in retaliation for that attack.
