Julia Roberts wins Best Actress Oscar

Julia Roberts has won the Best Actress Oscar.

Roberts had been favourite to win the award since the nominations were announced.

An emotional Roberts told the audience she would be going over her allotted 45 seconds to thank everyone.

She paid tribute to her co-star Albert Finney and director Stephen Soderbergh as well as her boyfriend Benjamin Bratt.

She looked at her Oscar and said it was "very pretty".

She screamed and said: "I love the world! I'm so happy!"
