Cork make impressive comeback to draw with Bray

Cork City 2 Bray Wanderers 2

Liam Kearney put in a man of the match display to set up both goals as Cork staged a dramatic recovery to come from 2-0 down to salvage a point and move up to fourth place in the Premier Division table.

John O'Flynn began the comeback when heading home Liam Kearney's cross on 71 minutes.

Left winger Kearney then worked the oracle again on 82 minutes when scampering away to pull the ball back for Leon McSweeney to shoot home off a post.

Bray had then had Chris O'Connor to thank as he made good saves late on from Kearney and Colin Healy as Bray held on for a deserved point to end their five match losing streak.

Bray led from the ninth minute when Patrick Kavanagh found space down the right to cross for Andrei Georgescu to tap in his fourth goal of the season.

It got better for Bray within five minutes of the restart when they doubled their lead. Stephen Fox put Kavanagh in behind Darragh Ryan and he raced away to shoot between the legs of Mark McNulty.

Bray had a triple let-off within a minute when Cork hit a post twice. O'Connor initially pushed Billy Woods' cross onto a post before O'Flynn shot against the same upright. McSweeney then shot straight into the arms of O'Connor.
