The Munster title was retained in their last outing, now comes the serious business for Kerry as they begin the process of ensuring Sam Maguire remains in the Kingdom.

This weekend marks the beginning of the All-Ireland football championship and Jack O’Connor’s men are in action against a familiar foe.

Yes, Jim McGuinness’ Donegal have been pitted against the side they were beaten by in the 2025 All-Ireland decider in Round 1 of the 2026 campaign.

Can they get revenge? Or will Kerry come out on top once more? All will be revealed this weekend.

Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney is the venue for the game.

What time is throw-in?

Throw-in has been set for 3pm on Saturday, May 23.

What else is on Saturday?

After Kerry v Donegal, Cork take on Meath at 5.30pm (also on GAA+) and that is followed by Galway v Kildare at 7.30pm (live on RTÉ2).

What happens next?

The winner progresses to Round 2a while the loser heads to Round 2b.
