Watch: Dingle hosts Ireland’s first St Patrick’s Day parade at dawn

At 5.55am, the streets of Dingle, Co Kerry, echoed with the sounds of fifes and drums as Ireland’s first St Patrick’s Day parade of the year began. Nuala Lynch proudly carried the Irish flag, leading the historic tradition that dates back nearly 200 years.

The Dingle Fife and Drum Band marched through the town before arriving at St Mary’s Church for a special early-morning Mass at 6.40am, where Fr O’Mahony welcomed the band and the local community.

After the service, over 250 locals emerged from the church and joined the parade, continuing the lively celebration through the town’s narrow streets.
