Gardaí are investigating a burglary at a credit union in Cork on Friday morning.

The First South Credit Union in Ballinlough, a suburb in the southside of Cork City, was burgled this morning.

No staff were injured but the branch will be closed for the day, it is understood.

“Gardaí are investigating a burglary which occurred at a premises in Ballinlough, Co Cork earlier this morning, Friday, 5th January,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

A local said a Garda car was parked outside the credit union this morning.
