Two men charged for robbery and dangerous driving in Louth

Two men in their twenties have been arrested following a crash on the M1.

Two men have been charged in relation to incidents of robbery and dangerous driving on the M1 in Dundalk on Sunday.

Gardaí signalled for a car to stop on the motorway shortly after 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after, a patrol car was rammed and took off at speed, shortly after Gardai exited the vehicle.

The car which was travelling southbound on the M1, was suspected of having been involved in an incident in Lisburn, County Antrim earlier.

After their arrest the men were taken to Dundalk Garda Station where they were being held.

Now the two men in their 20s will appear before Trim District Court this morning.
