Watch: Cork taxi driver protest

Suleman Ahmed and Bobby Lynch of Cork Taxi Drivers group delivered a letter to the constituency offices of Taoiseach Micheal Martin as part of their protest on Tuesday. They ask that the government “Review all app-based taxi fare systems to ensure full compliance with Irish regulations, enforce transparency and fairness in pricing, and invest in a publicly managed NTA taxi-hailing app as an Irish-controlled, regulated alternative for passengers and licensed drivers. We kindly request that this matter be given urgent consideration”. Drivers delivered the letter to the Taoiseach after meeting at Nemo Rangers where up to 200 drivers attended.
