Seamus Woulfe has met with the Chief Justice to discuss the Oireachtas Golf Society event.
A spokesperson for the Chief Justice confirmed that the meeting was held on Thursday in the Four Courts in Dublin.
A teleconference of the remaining Supreme Court justices was held beforehand.
The meeting on Thursday had been postponed three times due to Mr Woulfe’s personal and health reasons.
Seamus Woulfe was appointed to the Supreme Court in July in what was seen as a controversial appointment at the time.
He has yet to sit on the bench due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the event in Clifden in August which flouted Covid-19 restrictions.
A report by Justice Susan Denham found that the former attorney general should not have attended the dinner and had used poor judgment.
It’s understood the meeting on Thursday was to discuss the event and the subsequent fallout.
Mr Woulfe has previously been visited by a number of Supreme Court justices who felt that he “didn’t get” the seriousness of the matter.
Mr Woulfe previously told Justice Denham he was shocked that then-agriculture minister Dara Calleary had resigned and said he felt they were “scraping the barrel”.
He went on to compare the coverage of the event to “the KKK”.
A statement about the meeting is due sometime next week.
