Ireland's up and coming athletes and sportspeople will be competing in the National Finals of the HSE Community Games this weekend.

More than 6,000 young people aged between six and 16 will battle it out for the top prizes in Mosney, Co Meath.

The annual event, which began in 1967, sees young people from all over the country compete in athletics, football, art, dancing and a range of other sports and events.

CEO of the Community Games Donal Buggy has said that the games are growing in popularity.
