Limerick crash victim named
A 24-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a fatal accident in Co Limerick yesterday has been named locally as Finbar O’Keefe.
Mr O’Keefe from Fedamore, Co Limerick, died after he was in collision with a car at Ballybricken South, Grange about seven miles from Limerick city.
The accident happened shortly before 11am on Sunday morning on a dangerous bend on the Herbertstown Road.
A garda spokesman said it appeared that the motorcyclist may have lost control of his machine on the bend and came off the bike before colliding with an oncoming car.
Mr O’Keefe was taken by ambulance to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
The tragic accident marked the sixth fatality on roads in Limerick this year.
