VIDEO: Incredible footage sees free-diver up close and personal with tiger sharks

Tiger sharks are the bitey kind. So, you wouldn’t plunge among them without protective gear and have a dance, would you? Well, you’re not Hannah Fraser.

VIDEO: Incredible footage sees free-diver up close and personal with tiger sharks

Hannah Fraser is hardcore. The marine conservationist, “professional mermaid” and model plunged 50 feet into the seas off the Bahamas to dance with tiger sharks.

Hannah staged the swim to oppose the culling of the sharks, which are a threatened species due to finning and fishing by humans.

The incredible footage was shot by Emmy award-winning cinematographer Shawn Heinrichs.

The 38-year-old, who wore only a bikini and body paint and had no diving equipment, had to keep moving to discourage the 16-foot-long sharks from attacking.

Fraser said goodbye to her family in case she did not return from the dive.

Here’s more from Hannah, talking about her life as a mermaid. That’s right. Hardcore....And a little bit oddball.
