Irish people abroad can now get a taste of home thanks to the launch of RTÉ Player International. The new online TV service will feature free and paid-for Irish TV shows.

RTÉ Player International will feature just-aired television, which will be refreshed every day; box sets; and collections of RTÉ’s most popular shows, including The Late Late Show, Six One News, Prime Time, Nationwide and The Saturday Night Show.Brand ambassador for RTÉ Player International, Ryan Tubridy said that Irish people will appreciate being able to tune into Irish TV when they’re away. He said, “I know from feedback from international viewers of The Late Late Show that no matter where or how long you are living abroad, sometimes you just need that connection to home, whether that's hearing the Irish accent, catching up with news and events or getting a dose of Irish humour.”RTÉ Player International can be downloaded for free and users will be able to watch 100 hours of content. Users can pay a subscription of €8.99 ($8.99/ £6.99) to watch without ads and to get access to everything.The app is available for iOS devices from the app store.
