Geneva Convention to apply to Taliban fighters

The White House has confirmed the Geneva Convention does apply to Taliban prisoners, but not to those who were members of Osama bin Laden's terror network.

Officials are insisting that despite the change in designation the two groups of prisoners will not notice any difference in their day to day activity. It says they are already being treated well.

There will be no changes either at the controversial Camp X-ray in Cuba.

The Taliban members are being given treatment as outlined in the international convention as Afghanistan was a signatory.
