Newcastle hit by injury worries ahead of replay

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear will be without 11 senior players for tomorrow night’s FA Cup third-round replay with Hull.

Saturday’s goal hero Andy Carroll (hamstring) and Shola Ameobi (knee) have joined Mark Viduka (Achilles) and Obafemi Martins (hernia surgery) on the injured list, leaving skipper Michael Owen as the only fit senior striker at the club.

In addition, Geremi (back), Jose Enrique (groin) and Steven Taylor (calf) will also be missing, while Joey Barton and Claudio Cacapa (both knee), Habib Beye (ankle) and Alan Smith (foot) remain on the sidelines, as does loan signing Ignacio Gonzalez, who has barely figured since his arrival on Tyneside.

Experienced midfielder Nicky Butt returns from suspension, but Kinnear has included youngsters Kazenga LuaLua, Tamas Kadar, Mark Doninger and Jonny Godsmark in the squad.

Provisional squad: Given, Harper, Bassong, Coloccini, Edgar, Kadar, Butt, Guthrie, N’Zogbia, Duff, Gutierrez, Donaldson, Doninger, Godsmark, Owen, Xisco, LuaLua.
