Armagh enjoy winning league start
Dublin 0-07, Armagh 1-15
All-Ireland champions Armagh started their 2003 campaign in the same fashion as they finished last year's - with a resounding win at Croke Park.
The Orchard County defeated Dublin by 11 points - 1-15 to 0-07 in front of a record league crowd of 54,432, as Diarmuid Marsden and Oisin McConville gave Dublin's forwards a scoring lesson.
The sides got off to a sluggish start and there were 25 minutes on the clock before Armagh began to edge ahead.
Double-braces from Paul McGrane and McConville put the Northerners firmly in control at the break, leading 0-07 to 0-03.
Armagh began the second-half with a double from Marsden, before Barry Duffy punched to the net from a long ball for the only goal of the game.
Dublin rallied and scored three quick points but Armagh added to their lead and finished comfortably ahead.
