Man injured following alleged assault in Cork City

An investigation is underway after an alleged assault on the south side of Cork City on Monday night. 

A man, aged in his 30s, suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

It occurred at a residence in the Lough area at around 11.40pm. 

Gardaí said in a statement that they attended "the scene of an incident of alleged assault that occurred at a residence in the Lough area of Cork City on Monday". 

Investigations are ongoing, the spokesperson said.
