Cyclist in his 20s dies in collision with truck in Dublin city centre

A man in his 20s has died following a road traffic collision involving a truck in Dublin city centre.
The incident occurred at the junction of Middle Abbey Street and O’Connell Street, Dublin 1, shortly before 1pm on Wednesday.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where the cyclist was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.
The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene, and traffic diversions have been put in place. Road users are being advised to take alternative routes as delays are expected in the area.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
The Red Line Luas is currently suspended between Smithfield and Connolly/The Point.
A spokesperson for Luas operator Transdev said: "Services are operating between Tallaght/Saggart and Smithfield only.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of this disruption," the spokesperson added.
Road users and pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Middle Abbey Street and O’Connell Street between 12.30pm and 1.30pm are being asked to provide any camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, to investigating officers.
