Pulp Fiction writer held after death crash

An Oscar winning film writer has been arrested for drink driving after a car crash that killed one of his passengers.

Roger Avary ,42, who co-wrote Pulp Fiction with Quentin Tarantino and the recent epic Beowulf, was held after the crash in California’s Ventura County.

Avary’s car was the only one involved in the accident said police.

The crash killed Andreas Zini, 34, an Italian friend of Avary who was visiting him. Avary’s wire Gretchen was also seriously hurt after being hurled from the car in the crash.

Avary was booked but later released on 50,000 (£25,000) bail.
