East 17 star collapses

Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey was rushed to hospital yesterday after falling ill at his east London home.

The troubled star, 30, was treated in a rehabilitation clinic last month for depression, but denied press reports he had attempted suicide.

Harvey - whose girlfriend Emma B is currently appearing in British reality TV series The Farm, fell ill at his home in Walthamstow, with both police and the ambulance service being called to the scene.

A spokesman for London's police headquarters Scotland Yard confirms: "We were called at 3.15am to an address in E17 (postcode). An ambulance was already in attendance.

"A man who had collapsed at the address was taken to a north London hospital. Police have now left and there is no further involvement for us."
