Vegas splits from wife after year of marriage

Comic Johnny Vegas has split from his wife, little over a year after they married, he announced today.

The funnyman – who became a dad only two months ago – said he was “saddened” to announce the separation.

Vegas tied the knot with Kitty Donnelly at San Francisco’s City Hall after a whirlwind romance. They had known each other for only 20 weeks after meeting at a London pub.

A statement issued on his behalf tonight said: “Michael Pennington (aka Johnny Vegas) is saddened to announce that his marriage to Catherine is at an end and they are in the process of separating.

“At this difficult time, he requests that their privacy is respected. There will be no further comment.”
