TV star 'thrilled' over pregnancy

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are ‘‘incredibly thrilled’’ over news that the actress is pregnant, relatives said today.

Janet Broderick Kraft, 46, sister of actor Matthew, said the pair had been trying for a baby for some time.

‘‘They are just incredibly thrilled,’’ she told People magazine. ‘‘She is trying to decide where she wants to deliver.’’

Pippin Parker, 41, oldest of Sarah’s seven siblings, said: ‘‘This is something she’s really always wanted.

‘‘If she is in a room of adults and children, she’ll often gravitate toward the children.’’

The 37-year-old actress announced last week that she is expected to give birth in the autumn.

Filming of the hit show has been suspended for a month while scriptwriters decide what to do about the pregnancy.

The fifth series, starring Parker as newspaper columnist Carrie Bradshaw, had been due to start in the US in June and be screened in the UK later in the year.

Parker and Broderick’s marriage had been the subject of media speculation since they tied the knot in 1997.

Broderick, 40, who shot to fame in 1980s movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, recently stepped down from a role in hit Broadway play The Producers.
