Australian firm Chargeasap markets the Flash Pro Ultra as having 275w total output, the ability to charge six devices simultaneously, and a massive 25,000mAh capacity. This is more like a portable charging station than a regular battery pack.

Charging versatility

The Flash Pro Ultra features three USB-C ports (two 60w and a 140w), a USB-A port (60w), a 15w magnetic wireless charger, and a dedicated smartwatch charging pad. The Flash Pro Ultra is available in Apple or Samsung versions – my review unit was the former, and it worked great with my Apple Watch Ultra. You can charge two MacBooks, two smartphones (one wirelessly), a tablet, and a smartwatch — all at once.

OLED display

The small OLED display shows live charging info — volts, amps, battery percentage, time remaining — and makes a huge difference. No more guessing how much juice is left or whether your devices are charging properly. However, what’s odd is that it doesn’t display any information about wireless charging — whether I’m charging my Apple Watch Ultra, earbuds case or wirelessly charging a phone.

Real-world use

Chargeasap, like many other power bank brands, quotes misleading total output power ratings. At 275w, the battery would drain in under 20 minutes. In my testing, even with all four ports on the Flash Pro Ultra in use, I couldn’t get more than 140w of total output power. I’m not clear where the claimed 275w figure comes from, especially when the combined maximum across all four ports is listed as 360w. The more devices you plug in, the more the available power is divided between them.

I’ve used the Flash Pro Ultra for everything from powering a MacBook during photo editing sessions to topping up my phone, iPad, Ally X, Steam Deck and watch. It’s perfect for when you don’t have access to a power outlet or just want to ditch the clutter of multiple chargers.

The 140w USB-C port is especially useful. I could charge my 16-inch MacBook Pro to 50% in under 30 minutes using the original Apple cable, matching the speed of Apple’s 140w charger. The temperature reached 51 °c, but the power bank still had 28% charge remaining.

Of course, the power bank doesn’t have enough capacity to charge a large laptop fully, but that’s to be expected. It’s a huge time-saver when you’re on the move or stuck in airports without easy access to power.

While not unique to the Flash Pro Ultra, not all USB-C cables are created equal. Many of the cables I tested were limited to 60w charging or even less, with only a few capable of delivering the full 140w.

Fast recharging

Charging the Flash Pro Ultra is surprisingly quick. Using a 140w charger, it hit 80% in around 35 minutes and fully topped off in just over an hour. Even better, it supports pass-through charging, so you can simultaneously charge the power bank and your devices — ideal for overnight charging or minimising cable mess in a hotel room.

A few downsides

It’s not all perfect. At nearly 600g, it’s heavier than most regular power banks, though that’s expected given the power it offers. It also doesn’t come with a wall charger, so you’ll need a 140w USB-C charger to take full advantage of its rapid charging, and that’s sold separately.

Lastly, while it’s TSA-approved, it’s right at the upper edge of what you’re allowed to fly with, so it might raise eyebrows at airport security. That said, I had no issues travelling with it.

Verdict

The Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra is an absolute powerhouse, capable of charging a device at up to 140w. If you need to charge multiple devices quickly and efficiently — whether you’re a digital nomad, a creator on the move, or someone who hates running out of battery — this is worth checking out.  Kickstarter
