He co-founded and has been CEO and chair of online peer-to-peer lending marketplace Zopa, which launched a digital bank in 2020. He has board roles with Carwow, C Hoare & Co and Octopus Electric Vehicles. He holds a Master’s in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, and an MBA from INSEAD.
Lesley-Ann Morgan has been appointed as global head of DC (Defined Contribution pensions) with financial services group L&G. She will report to Sarah Aitken, chief client officer, asset management. She brings more than 30 years of experience in client-facing roles, consultancy and investment management. She joins from Schroders, where she held senior roles since 2011, notably as global head of pensions and retirement. She also spent 18 years as an investment consultant and partner at Towers Watson, advising on DB and DC schemes. “I am thrilled to be joining L&G at such a pivotal time for the business and the wider pensions industry,” said Lesley-Ann.
Sylvia McNeece has joined Law Debenture, the provider of independent professional services, as its new professional trustee in Ireland. She joins from Lane Clark and Peacock where she was a senior governance consultant. Prior to that, Sylvia was head of legal in the Pensions Authority for 15 years, drafting and negotiation of all pensions’ legislation. More recently, she led the project management office in the Pensions Authority, in charge of strategic planning and developing the roadmap for its transition to a forward-looking risk based supervisor under IORP II. Sylvia is also skilled in stakeholder and relationship management.
Fiona Charles has been appointed as country manager for Ireland with Agria, the pet insurance business. Effective from January 2026, she will succeed Bernard O’Sullivan, who retired this year. Fiona brings over 20 years of experience in the financial and insurance sectors, as well as being strongly committed to leadership and animal welfare. In her new position, she will lead the development of Agria’s operations in Ireland, as well as increasing brand awareness for Irish pet owners. “The opportunity to lead Agria Ireland is incredibly exciting, as it brings together everything I value in a role – leadership, strategy, and a purpose-driven culture focused on animal welfare,” said Fiona.
John Hennessy has been appointed as non-executive director and chair of agribusiness Origin Enterprises, from January. He succeeds Gary Britton, who will retire in March 2026 after three years as chair. Anna is also a qualified solicitor-advocate in England and Wales, who represents companies under investigation or prosecution by regulators. She is also a member of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society and the International Association of Young Lawyers. “Companies are grappling with a wave of EU regulation that brings real compliance and litigation risks. I will support clients in bringing products to market with confidence,” said Anna.
