New travel gift site

THE Shandon Travel Group has recently launched a wedding gift registry website enabling guests to give couples the ‘gift of travel’ called www.myhoneymoon.ie.

Guests and friends can make a monetary gift online and couples have full access to all payments. Shandon Travel offer special gift cards on which couples can write their unique access code and include in their wedding invitations. From the day the registry is created, guests can purchase gifts and the account tracks all of the gifts.

- ABBEY Travel has launched its latest Disneyland Paris brochure that features what is termed the New Generation Festival. This festival features a new series of stars, some of whom are centred around the new Toy Story Playland which features a new range of family attractions.

- TRAVELLERS to Britain may be interested in the launch of a website specialising in travel content from an organisation entitled the World Tourism Network.

The site, www.TheBritishTraveler.com, has content for hotels, apartments, cottages, B&Bs, pubs and inns. There are also over 300 recommendations of things to see and do, with more to be added every month.

Clients can buy theatre tickets and also book dinner at more than 650 restaurants across Britain, and while London isn’t as heavily featured as it might be, the site is linked as a partner to www.VisitLondon.com.

- A SERIES of exclusive discounts has been negotiated by Irish Ferries for all passengers purchasing wine at two outlets in Cherbourg and Roscoff.

By showing their booking confirmation, passengers can avail of discounts up to 12.5%, depending on the outlet and volume of wine purchased.

Two outlets are participating in the scheme – the Normandie Wine Warehouse in Cherbourg and the Wine Beer Supermarket in Roscoff – both of which offer passengers the additional benefit of being able to pre-order their wines on-line.
