Million dollar bag on show

A DIAMOND and platinum handbag valued at £1 million (€1.26m) has gone on display in Britain.

The one-off creation by Japanese jewellery designer Ginza Tanaka is made from platinum and is set with more than 2,000 diamonds.

It is on display at various jewellery stores to mark London Jewellery Week, which runs until Sunday, and is available for sale, organisers said.

Consumers will be able to find the locations online, but they will not be disclosed in advance for security reasons.

The bag’s diamond shoulder strap can be detached and worn as a necklace or bracelet, while the eight carat diamond centrepiece, surrounded by a cluster of 81 smaller diamonds, can be used as a brooch.
