Who are Catholic bishops to lecture us?

The Catholic Church Bishops have got involved in the election debate to pressurise politicians against repealing the eight amendment.

These celibate men were not elected by the people to their positions.

They are men who have never had to worry about employment, housing, sick children or school runs. Indeed, they have probably never had to change a nappy.

These men are of the same organisation that not very long ago informed grieving women that their dead unbaptised children would never go to heaven or see the face of God.

They are also of the same organisation that sacrificed other people’s children to paedophiles to protect their own organisation’s reputation.

And voters might do well to remember that the Catholic Church consider sex outside of marriage, contraception, divorce, and homosexual practices all grievously sinful.
