Walsh obsessed with acquiring Aer Lingus

I agree with James Gleeson (Irish Examiner, February 28) concerning the possible takeover of Aer Lingus by IAG. Willie Walsh seems to be obsessed with the acquisition.

As soon as the pensions row was resolved, he rushed in with an ill- made bid, submitted a second bid over Christmas, since when there has been no let-up.

Are his colleagues in IAG as enthusiastic as he is? I think the government should buy back the airline, as it should never have been privatised in the first place; however, I fully realise that is unlikely. Meanwhile, those negotiating in Ireland should be wary.
