With the EU and the US courting the Ukraine with its approximately 46 million population, is there a broader agenda?
Why not court our much nearer neighbour Turkey (73 million population) for full membership of the EU?
Of course, Turkey is a member of NATO and the West is happy with that. If the Ukraine opposition gets their way and part membership of the EU is achieved, will the Ukraine then become a member of NATO, resulting in NATO bases on the doorstep of the world’s largest country?
There is talk of Viktor Yanukovych being a puppet of Putin and Russia. What about opposition leader Vitali Klitschko, the boxer, with his links to Germany and the US? Is he a puppet for the West?
