The force is strong at Skellig Michael, too

Star Wars is a remarkable film franchise. Its predominant themes include empowerment, idealism, and fighting the good fight against overwhelming odds.

Loyalty, compassion and decency take on opaque power and the imperial guard.

It is a notable thing that those who starred in Star Wars 30 years ago are glad to be part of these new films. Fiscal inducement seems not the sole motivator.

The force remains strong. But Skellig Michael, too, is an icon, one that is beyond anything commercial.
