Syria, like so many recent wars, is all about the money

Michael McFaul’s editorial piece on the Syrian crisis (Irish Examiner, December 24) is disingenuous to Russia, insensitive to Europeans and offensive to the thinking mind.

It was one-sided and historically inaccurate. It was propaganda, plain and simple.

Iraq, Georgia, Libya, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen and even FIFA are all recent examples of regime change. One large nation inflicting its will on another. Saddam must go, then Gaddafi must go, then Assad must go, then Blatter must go. Ignore the human slaughter and follow the money: the US economy and the S&P500 are the only winners.
