State must apologise for letters to abuse victims

It was only when Senator David Norris won his appeal to the Euopean Court of Human Rights that the State enacted legislation decriminalising homosexuality.

In light of the Louise O’ Keeffe victory in the ECHR, is it not incumbent on the State to enact legislation to make reparations to the citizens who were abused as children in day schools (just as they did by setting up the Residential Institutions Redress Board). The State should also apologise to victims for sending threatening letters to drop their case.
