RTÉ’s Vatican coverage shows its Catholic bias

RTÉ is a pro-Catholic institution.

The recent coverage of the Vatican’s election of a pope was pungent, to say the least, and going so far as to provide picture insets of the Vatican over normal programming.

RTÉ’s mission seems to be to keep this country Catholic and all the problems that go with that particular faith.

It is beyond belief that RTÉ would comprehensively cover the election of a new Catholic Pope and at the same time forget that they are still covering endless stories of child abuse and cover-ups.

RTÉ seem to be twisted regarding editorial polices and may also be acting against their statutory remit by covering one religion in a wall-to-wall fashion.

Given all the accounts of injustice in the Catholic Church, the less coverage we see of the Vatican the better!
