Politicians misjudge anger about water

Why will there be a dedicated Irish Water helpline for our politicians?

Why not just get the existing system fit for purpose rather than adding more cost to this great Irish debacle and accentuating the wide divide between the elite and the ordinary people?

Of course, fear now stalks the ranks of the elite with the dreaded spectre of putting themselves before an angry and militant electorate. This dedicated phoneline will no doubt allow the elite to tell the people that they were working hard to ease their concerns about Irish Water.

How has the Government misjudged the public’s anger over the water issue so badly? Why does it seem that Fine Gael is perpetually divorced from the day-to-day realities of life? We can all sit back and relax as our elite will now make numerous phone calls on our behalf thus saving us money.
